Volunteers are part of the Hospice Team that offers
supportive medical, psycho-social and volunteer services to patients
and families who are facing the difficulties of a life-limiting
Hospice volunteers are concerned men and women of
all ages who willingly give of their time and talents to help Hospice
families in many ways. They come from all walks of life, bonded
by the mutual desire to serve the community.
Volunteers are given a basic orientation to the Hospice
program during an extensive training course. Here the prospective
volunteer learns about the Hospice program and the volunteers
role as part of the Hospice Team.
training is completed, volunteers may select their area of involvement
in the program whether in direct patient contact or in one of many
other supporting positions.

How Can I Help?
As a Hospice volunteer, there are many ways to serve.
Volunteers have the right to choose assignments that best suit their
time, skills and interests.
Hospice staff, patients and families have a tremendous
appreciation for volunteers who help with:
Computer Data Input
Arts and Crafts
Sitting with Patients
Patient/Family Respite Care
